All dried plant material that features on this artwork is locally sourced from a big forest nearby where we live and our little garden in London. Each element is completely dry with all shapes and forms left as they were found in nature. We carefully collect only what we will use and make sure to respect the surrounding environment that provides so much inspiration to our work.
This artwork is approximately 11.5 x 12cm, made on 100% cotton rag paper and is supplied in its own protective box (see pic 4). We would recommend having the artwork framed for display to avoid any of the delicate elements gathering dust that are not easily cleaned. The box is provided to easily transport the artwork to be framed. When considering framing please be aware that this artwork will require a sufficiently deep profile and spacer to separate the artwork from the glazing used.
Picture 5 shows an artwork in the Sere Fragment series that was framed by us. This is in a thin deep ash profile, float mounted with a 4cm border and using an anti reflective glass. If you are interested in buying this artwork framed in the same way the cost will be an extra £50. Please purchase the artwork via our website and send us an email to confirm you would like us to provide it framed so we can provide you with an additional framing invoice. This service is only available to UK customers due to the need and difficulty in transporting glazing. This service will likely take at least an additional 2 weeks so please check with us before purchasing if you have any time constraints.
We titled Sere Fragments, with the meaning of dried material, for a series of our projects that began as an extension of flower pressing. During the colder months with less to press from our garden & the wild we started to appreciate & work with the different shapes & elements that emerge & dry naturally.
Please note as these are all real dried plant materials some elements are liable to break off with excessive movement or flex of the paper and so some pieces may work loose as they are shipped. The artworks will be fixed within the box (or frame) to limit any damage in transport and are able to be easily removed in the future for framing or if otherwise needed.
